GOV2GO
GOV2GO is an app that simplifies your interactions with government at federal, state and local levels. You can sign up for the services and you want, complete your transactions easily and be reminded so you never miss a deadline. As UX manager and product designer, I redesigned this app from initial concepts through delivery in four months. Below are some of the highlights.
UI and visual design system for a digital platform
Thinking: The Gov2Go platform needed a new brand and UI design system to help make a strong impression with future state and national enterprise partners and ultimately, with consumers. I started this work by defining the brand qualities that the logo and UI system needed to communicate to our audiences and went through a fast and efficient process to create multiple designs to consider. Gov2Go management approved the logo and I decided on a UI that visually reinforced the round shape of the logo as a design theme that felt both modern and accessible. I kept the UI elements simple and decided to call out the value of the services we offered with custom illustrations that felt more like other quality designed consumer experiences than something from the government. The resulting system presented a high quality brand experience and enabled our product team to develop consistent elements across the platform and for marketing websites and materials. The work received strong commendations from management, partners, prospects and consumers and helped to grow the business at a rapid rate over the last year.

Improvements to a mobile and web user onboarding experience
Thinking: As the UX Lead Designer and Manager I saw the need to improve the Gov2Go app onboarding experience. In the previous version, users were forced to answer a series of questions for several minutes that weren't applicable to everyone - leading to confusion and questions about the relevancy of the app to peoples' specific needs. My strategic solution was to bring users into the app to and to deliver real value through the experience as quickly as possible. I found that the real value that Gov2Go could offer people would be allowing them to quickly see all of the services available (with tool tips-like modal windows and short service descriptions) and at the same time empower them to add any service they wanted immediately (with an easily-understood interactive service checklist). The solution allows users to learn about and onboard a government service in the first two minutes of using the app.
